Slideshow of Torun 2012

Dear friends,

Laura, Jan-Thore and Sebastian from Germany have made a dia-show about the great encounter in Torun.

Have fun watching it!

European Citizenship Prize

In November 2012 there will be a celebration in European Parliament in Brussels with a poster exhibition of 50 European projects from 19 countries awarded with the European Citizenship Prize.

This is poster "It is normal to be different!" made by Sebastian. Thank you!

Here is a first little impression from the wonderful street "Happening" in Torun together with "Theater 21" from Warsaw on 17 September 2012. This video was filmed by "Boban" and cut by Philipp. Thanks, guys! Full length Torun video and photos will be available soon!

Part of speech of the President of the Foundation "Give a Chance"

"Next year our Foundation  Give a Chance" will celebrate its 20th anniversary; for 20 years we’ve benn helping the disabled to achieve their potential. I think successfully  - just look at the participants o"f your project: MichaÅ‚, Olek, Marta, Szymon…

What are the people, labeled by genetics the “Down-Syndrome People” like? They are wonderful, joyful, happy and cheerful; open people with great hearts and beautiful souls. They will not hurt you, won’t cheat you; in their honesty they are often naive. I dare say, however – they tend to be lonely…

Thank you so much for your warm welcome

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for your warm welcome. We are truly honored to have you all as friends.

Especial thanks to Mrs. Lucy who is our great inspiration ( see her photos), a person full of incredible energy, ideas and spirit. She is a big, capable organizer and a great, great friend.

As well as to Mrs Ewa, a beautiful teacher, with a great ability to be everywhere for everybody, ready to help in each situation.
A big thank for hosts and their families. We really felt happy and comfortable at your homes (we do hope that Eldar didn't eat everything what you had).
Travelling to Torun was a great and wonderful experience. Especially for Mediha who was stolen in Belgrade. But we learnt a lot through this week of our visit to Poland.
If you have friends and teachers, like Gisela or Lucy, problems always seem unimportant and small. We met friends from Poland, Germany, Bulgaria and Spain. We enjoys sightseeing of Torun and Krakow. And of course it was unforgettable experience to visit Auschwitz, a place of hate and torching. Unbelievable what people can do to each other. Because of that we are very proud to be a part of this great project which is called IT'S NORMAL TO BE DIFFERENT. And we are different- different students from 5 countries, 5 religions, different traditions and habits, students with and without Down syndrome, people with different appearance, personality and ability. We have learnt that respect is what each human being needs. Everybody deserves to be loved and respected.
We are all (participants of the project)
amazing people who are united by common spirit and passion for the same thing.
